    We are the West Houston Area Genealogy Society, but we usually just call ourselves WHAGS.  Legally we're a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, but our real purpose is helping each other achieve our genealogy goals, whatever those goals may be.

    So, whether you're a curious newbie just starting out, or an experienced expert, we can help you with your efforts. We offer many ways to learn...

• Monthly presentations by experts in their fields;

• Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that meet via Zoom to gather folks who share a more focused interest in various aspects of research;

• Members Helping Members sessions for casual small-group chats, even 1-on-1, on a limitless variety of topics;

• A monthly newsletter with articles that teach new skills, report on members' successes, and more;

• Our website that keeps you up-to-date on events and scheduling, resource links of all kinds, local contact information, and back issues of newsletters;

• WHAGS Relative Finder page on FamilySearch showing how you may be related to other WHAGS members;

Individual membership is only $20 per year, and family memberships are a bargain at $30.  It's probably the smallest, and possibly the best, investment you'll make in your research!
